The Hoolie Mile, sponsored by Heron House Early Years, takes place in the morning of the opening day of the Killearn Hoolie and is an opportunity for all ages to join together and run, walk or dance round the colourful streets of Killearn. The Hoolie Mile commences at 10am with a lap of the football pitch before heading out onto Birch Road. The mile long route will be carefully managed by our magnificent Marshals and entrants will be guided onto Beech Drive, through the Kingdom to Lampson, New Endrick and gallantly finishing under the race gantry in Killearn Park once more. Spectators and supporters are actively encouraged along the way if they are not already participating!! Medals and souvenirs will be awarded to all entrants with spot prizes for fancy dress. Entry fee is £2 – and registration on the day only – from 9am in Killearn Park. Under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult (max 2 per adult). Max 200 entrants. No dogs allowed.

Killearn 10k 2014
The successful Killearn 10k was a sell out for the inaugural year in 2013 and, with great anticipation, it returns again in 2014, to co-incide with The Killearn Hoolie Gala week. The Killearn 10k is Scottish Athletics affiliated and facilitated by members of jogscotland Killearn and the local community. It is classified as a trail run, but is multi-terrain with tarmac, forest paths, farm track and open grassland. It is open to entrants aged 16 years and over with a limit set of 200 participants. Final registration on the day will take place from 9am at The Killearn Hotel, formally The Black Bull Hotel. Entrants will then be piped out to the start line, from the Buchanan Monument to the War Memorial. Keeping to the same beautiful route which the Killearn 10k is reknowned for, the trail will head out through the village onto the historic pipe track, following along the foothills of Dumgoyne, returning back via Ibert Road. The finish line will be in Killearn Park where our stunning bespoke medals, souvenir water bottles and goody bags will be awarded to all finishers. Refreshments will be available back at The Killearn Hotel with prize giving at 12.30pm. For entry and further details see
